Charcos de Quesa pools

The well-known Quesa Pools form a series of four natural pools carved out by the water in the bed of the Río Grande. The four pools are suitable for swimming and are of different sizes and depths. Upstream, we find the Chorro de Corbera Pool, one of the most photogenic and popular due to its spectacular waterfall. Behind its sheet of water lies a cave that can be visited and at its edge is a little beach of white pebbles.

Downstream is the La Perola or La Bañera. Pool, which sits amidst lush Mediterranean vegetation of pine trees and scrubland. This is the largest and deepest pool and its waters are cool and crystalline. These waters pour into the adjacent Las Fuentes Pool which is also fed by the natural contours and channelled springs that it takes its name from.

The Río Grande river continues its course downstream next to the pedestrian access and parking areas, before discharging its waters into the Charco de la Horteta, a natural pool that is difficult to reach. Swimming in this area requires a certain caution.

The area of the Los Charcos pools is fully equipped with all kinds of services: car parks, an accessible area for disabled people, fountains, picnic areas, toilets, a children’s play area, via ferrata, etc. If you wish to access it on foot, the area is crossed by several mid-distance trails (PR-CV 203 and the PR-CV 204), which can take you to other interesting sites such as the Voro Rock Shelter.
