Chella Patron Saint Festivities

Declared of Local Tourist Interest of the Valencian Community.

The patron saint festivities are celebrated in honor of La Candelaria, San Blas, and the Holy Christ of Refuge, between the 2nd and 4th of February with parades, open-air dances, firecracker displays, etc. The day of La Candelaria, the 2nd, is special because the unique grotesque procession of San Fumat is celebrated. It begins in the early morning, when the open-air dance ends, and everyone dresses up and smokes caliqueños: the tobacco cigars that gave fame to the town in the past 20th century.
