Hinchidor Square (Millares)

Millares

Hinchidor Square (Millares)

The entire irrigation system of the community is provided from this source rich in water, as evidenced by its six pipes and which preserve the popular toponymy in which in the past they were “swollen”, where the jugs of water for domestic use were filled.
The fountain was built in 1940, possibly above a previous one, and was restored in 1988. It collects the waters of the water birth through the ditch and after emerging from the “El Hinchidor” source, it rests in the pond of the same name that remained uncovered until 1987. When covered, the external appearance is that of a square. The outlet of the water from the pond serves the drinking-trough, also called “El hinchidor”, which quenched the thirst for animals and cattle available to the inhabitants. Subsequently, the water serves “El Clot” and, through the partition called the “Carcou”, this distributes the flow to the ditches 2/3 of Llano and Solana, and 1/3 Las Forquetas.
